Understand the Techniques Behind Aesthetic Injectables
A successful aesthetic procedure involves much more than administering an injection. It requires careful assessment, anatomical understanding, treatment planning and clinical judgement.
During your clinical day, you will have the opportunity to observe and discuss professional approaches to:
- Dermal filler techniques: treatment planning, appropriate product selection and anatomical considerations.
- Botulinum toxin treatments: muscle assessment, preparation principles and safe injection planning.
- Needle and cannula considerations: understanding different techniques, their applications and limitations.
- Patient comfort: communication, treatment preparation and managing expectations.
- Clinical safety: aseptic practice, contraindications and potential complications.
The supervised refresher option provides additional opportunities for personalised guidance on techniques relevant to your existing qualifications.
Facial Mapping, Treatment Planning & Precision
Learn why understanding the underlying facial anatomy is essential for planning aesthetic injectable treatments.
Observe how experienced clinicians evaluate facial structure, muscle activity, symmetry and individual treatment goals before selecting an appropriate approach.
- Facial proportions and symmetry assessment.
- Understanding relevant muscles and anatomical structures.
- Identifying important treatment considerations and risk areas.
- Facial marking and treatment planning principles.
- Individualised patient assessment.
- Recognising situations where treatment should be deferred.
For qualified practitioners, this is also an opportunity to revisit the importance of accurate assessment and conservative, patient-centred aesthetic planning.

Dermal Filler & Botox Observation Day FAQs
Can beginners attend the Observation Day?
Yes. The observation option is designed for people considering a career in aesthetics who want to understand how injectable treatments and clinic operations work before committing to further professional training. You will not perform injections.
What is the difference between observation and refresher training?
Observation is a non-practical learning experience focused on watching and understanding clinical procedures. The refresher pathway is intended for previously trained practitioners who need to revisit their knowledge and may undertake suitable supervised hands-on activities after approval.
How long does the clinical day last?
The clinical experience lasts up to 5 hours, depending on the selected option and scheduled clinic activities.
Will I perform Botox or dermal filler injections myself?
Observation-only participants do not administer injections. Eligible refresher delegates may undertake supervised practical activities where approved, subject to their previous training, professional suitability, insurance and available clinical arrangements.
Is this suitable if I have not practised injectables for some time?
Yes, the refresher option is intended for previously trained practitioners wishing to revisit their knowledge and confidence. Your qualifications and experience will be reviewed to determine the appropriate session format.
Does this course qualify me to become an aesthetic injector?
No. This is an observation or refresher experience rather than a complete foundation qualification. Practitioners remain responsible for meeting applicable professional, training, insurance and regulatory requirements.
Can I ask the trainer questions?
Absolutely. Delegates are encouraged to ask questions throughout the session, subject to patient privacy and the safe delivery of clinical treatments.
