A focused hands-on training course designed for eligible practitioners who require practical blood-drawing skills as part of treatments such as PRP, PRF and IV therapy.
Training is delivered in a clinical setting and combines essential theory with practical experience on a professional training arm followed by supervised live practice where appropriate.
Focused Practical Venepuncture Skills
The course focuses on the practical skills required to safely prepare for and perform a supervised blood draw.
Vein Identification
Basic assessment and selection of a suitable venepuncture site.
Needle Handling
Safe handling and controlled venepuncture technique.
Blood Collection
Practical experience using appropriate blood collection equipment.
Clinical Safety
Hygiene, patient preparation, sharps handling and safe disposal.
From Training Arm to Live Practice
Training begins on a professional practice arm, allowing the learner to become comfortable with equipment, vein location and technique.
Once the trainer is satisfied with the learner’s understanding and practical technique, supervised live venepuncture may be introduced.

Preparation
Patient communication, preparation, equipment and hygiene.
Vein Assessment
Identifying and assessing an appropriate venepuncture site.
Practice Arm
Develop initial technique using a professional simulation arm.
Live Practice
Supervised practical blood collection where appropriate.
Safe Completion
Appropriate removal, pressure, aftercare and sharps disposal.
Trainer Feedback
Individual feedback to improve confidence and technique.
Individual Clinical Mentorship
This is not a large classroom course. Training is delivered personally, allowing the learner to receive close supervision, practical correction and individual guidance throughout the session.
Live Model Practice
Supervised practice with direct guidance from the trainer in a clinical environment.
Trainer-Led Practical Session
Individual attention throughout the session, including preparation, equipment handling and technique.
Minimum Level 3 Qualification
This course is intended for appropriately qualified practitioners who already hold a relevant minimum Level 3 qualification or accepted professional equivalent.
Certificate Awarded
Following successful participation in the course, learners receive a certificate confirming completion of the Venepuncture & Phlebotomy Training course.
The certificate confirms completion of this focused practical training and should be used alongside the learner’s existing professional qualification and scope of practice.
